The first ever Zelda game for NES, has been cited for online play when the Revolution is released in 2006. The Nintendo Revolution already has been announced to be backwards compatible and wi-fi capable out of the box. Nintendo plans to use this to add multiplayer to all Zelda games.

The new multiplayer plays much more like Super Smash Bros, rather than the teamwork based games of The Four Sword. LoZ WiFi, as its being called, uses the in game engine to render the fighting in stunning 8 bit realism.
Fans will be very pleased to see the advances we have made with the game. No more Pong for us. This online multiplayer, will allow players around the world to engage in gruel 8-bit combat at any time of the day.
So far, only two screens have been released. The first shows the character screen, as well as weapon selection. "We didn't want to confuse gamers with too many options for weapons."

"But we also wanted them to have their choice of color. I'm proud to say that after 3 months, our team managed to get 8 different colors for the player to choose from.
As for arenas, 5 have been announced. They consist of a whole screen, rendered in amazing detail. The maps that have so far been announced are: The Lost Woods, Labyrinth Entrance, Lost Hills, Graveyard, and Beach.
:"Frankly game play is amazing: stated one gamer, "The pixels are clear, the actions are smooth, and there's almost no lag at all. We even engaged in a 4 player battle, and we had no lag at all. This is the way of the future man."
Nintendo of America remains a leader in the future of gaming technology, and online gameplay. LoZ WiFi is expected to launch around the same time as the revolution, and will sell for roughly $59.99 online.
