Team Hyrule Trades Zelda to the Gerudo Marauders
In a shocking blockbuster move, Team Hyrule, fourteen time winner of the Triforce Cup, have traded franchise player Zelda to their divisional rival: The Gerudo Marauders. In exchange, Team Hyrule receives TGM’s 1st round Twilight Princess Draft pick: Zant and a second round draft pick in the next game.
"Zelda has been an important part of this organization for a long time,” stated Team Hyrule General Manager David Cutter. “However we feel that it’s in the best interest of our future to build our team around our young upcoming stars. We certainly wish the best for her in her new environment.”
Ganondorf Dragmire, captain of the Gerudo Marauders was delighted by the acquisition. “Zelda was an excellent member of Team Hyrule. While Link often stole much of the media’s attention, Zelda was always playing her best; often spoiling our nefarious plans time after time again. Clearly her experience and leadership will help our younger members get into the game.”
Zelda was not available for comment.
Career Stats: Zelda was drafted 3rd overall in the ‘Legend of Zelda’ draft, behind Team Hyrule and Gerudo Maraders Captains: Link and Ganondorf. With Team Hyrule she won the coveted Triforce Cup ten times; however constant injuries would keep her out play for the LA, OOA, OOS, and MM seasons. Despite assurances she was 100% for the Twilight Princess season, Zelda only appeared 3 times, forcing Team Hyrule to rely on rookie Midna to carry them to another cup victory.
Expert’s Corner: This is an interesting move by the Gerudo Maraders. Zelda will no doubt bring the knowledge and experience needed desperately on the playing field. But the Maraders will be hard pressed to pay her 8.3 million rupee contract and remain under the cap. Team Hyrule on the other hand is now riding their future hopes on Midna, putting more stress on her than last year. It will interesting to see how this all plays out in the opening cinematic of the next game.
