Overview
For people who needed their Zelda fix NOW, Link's Awakening was the answer. LA was the first Zelda game to be released on the Nintendo Gameboy, as well as the first game not to take place in Hyrule. Link's Awakening featured interchangable item buttons, allowing both the A and B button to be assigned to any item wished. A color DX version was later released for the Gameboy Color, and included a secret dungeon that yielded the explorer one of two special items. LA was only handheld Zelda Game until the Oracle series.
