The Forum Rules

After having a few problems in the past, YOU MUST AGREE to follow these rules if you want to post. Don't come whining or complaing to me later when your post is deleted, you are asked to stop spamming, or in the extreme: you get banned.

Obviously this board isn't meant to be a serious board where people sit around all day talking about the socialogical effects of holding a gameboy
34 hours stright. Rather its just a place where you can interact with other members and fans of the site. Here are some things that are generally expected and will be enforced by moderators.

The NO's

No Spaming. Spam. Its everywhere, lets face it, in your e-mail, repeated pop-ups, etc. I hate it. And I have had to almost shut down the board once because of it. So here's the deal. To identify if you post is spam, give it the EDN Spam Test of Death: One: if your post can be deleted and there is no conquence, its spam. Two: If you post adds nothing to the converstation but rather just adds useless words, its spam. Third: if your post is one or two words it most likely one of the above. Spam.

Both the mods and I have no tolerance for it. If I or they see it, we have full permission to delete your post without worrying about it. We may or may not PM you about it. HOWEVER abuse of this rule will lead to a warning, and if it continues out right banning from the Forbidden Woods.

No Off Topic Posts. As a humorous site, I don't mind is posts are a bit off topic. Hey its a Zelda humor site, sometimes you just have to talk about...um Zelda and Humor. But there is a limit. One or two posts are ok. BUT if the whole topic becomes off topic, it will be locked. If I find that all the topics are getting off-topic, I will revoke this ability, and off-topic posts will be treated exactly as spam.

No Racism/Sexism/Otherism. Harassing people because of race, religion, gender, or ethnic origin IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. If I find a remark that may have been unintentional, I'll talk to you about it. If I see a blatant post of this ANYWHERE you will be banned no questions asked.

No Flaming. flame (fla-lame) n. An insulting criticism or remark meant to incite anger, as on a computer network. This board is for posting about Zelda and other topics. Its meant for all the fans to be able to talk with each other and have a good time. Likewise eventually there will be someone that you find that you don't agree with, their comments, values, whatever. If it is on this board however, suck it up and deal with it maturely. Any insulting comments about someone, someone's post, values, etc will be dealt with severely. If you have been flamed at, please do not flame back. PM myself or a mod and we'll deal with it. In the end, I will deal with it as I see fit. Abuse of this rule will get you banned.

No Suicide, Self hurting, pity topics. This is not a self help site. This is a Zelda humor site. IF you have problems do not bring them here. Should I find such topic you will be banned. Its not that we don't care, but we do not have the skills or training to help you with your problem. Please find a proper site that can deal with your problem. As to pity topics, don't even create them. Creating them just to make yourself feel good is a waste of space and time.

No Inapproprate Pictures or Links. This should be common sense. Posting any pornography, links to pornography, or any images deemed inapproprate by either the Moderators or Admin will result in your account being banned.

Note, if a moderator or administrator deems something inapporprate for the forum the decision must be repected. Note that the administrator as the right to over turn any decision made by the moderators.


Signing Up
Just abide by the rules and you will be fine here. We aren't trigger happy people, who will lock, delete, ban for the *Navi* of it. We do this to make the forum a more enjoyable place. Seeing as its a new board, Here are some things to help you intergrate better with the board.

Post in the Welcoming Topic - Introduce yourself. Tell us a bit where you came from. That way, people can greet you and introduce themselves as well.

Post in topics that you have an interest in - Just start posting. Your opinion matters as much as someone who's been here the longest. Which would be me. :P But be active, people will reconize who you are faster.

If you have a site, advertise it - Likewise, if you have a site, show it off. Post it in the Shameless Self Promotion section. Let people see what you've done.

Your Rights as a Forum Member
Freedom of speech and expression are important, and necessary for a board to have diversity. Remember that if you violate the rules however, that is not exercising your rights.

Freedom of opinion and expression. You have the right to express you views on this bored, however when it violates the rules thats where I step in. Not everyone will agree with you but you do have the right to express you views here without the threat of being shunned, or flamed.

Complaints. If you think something is wrong with the site or forum, or just are complaining about something relievent then you have the right to do that here. Just post it in the proper section. These comments can help me make the site and forums better.

Advertising. You may advertise your site in the proper section. If its good, or I like it, I'll come to you asking for affiliation rather then vica-verca. Only in the right section though. A mod can move the post to the right section if need be.

Other stuff. The only board that guests can post in is the Forum Help board. This is if you have trouble signing up, etc. The one board that is restricted is the Admin board. That is for myself to post announcements. Also if you want to link pictures you must have your own place to store them. Try www.photobucket.com Its the one I use to remote link the pictures to the site.

That is all for the rules. If I see they need to be modified I will change them and alert you.
