"Zelda Dungeon has been a site which has slowly climbed its way up the lesser known Zelda ranks to become arguably the most content rich Zelda site online at the moment. Today, it still offers its readers much variety at a high quality level."

- Link of Hyrule, Webmaster of Legend of Zelda.com -

On August 19th, 2001 a small Geocities site was launched by a fairly unknown webmaster named Mases. The site, called Zelda Dungeon, was initially created as a subsite for a much larger gaming network. Eventually this network shut down, dooming Zelda Dungeon to a lifetime of obscurity.

Except that it didn’t, and today Zelda Dungeon stands as one of the largest, most well known Zelda sites on the internet. Over the years it grew from a small Geocities site, to a leader in the Zelda Community.

Just quick look around the site, can tell the amount of work that has been put it. For starters, Zelda Dungeon has always been known for their different styles of layouts, with the current Version 15 done in the style of a 2D Zelda level. Probably the most extensive section of the site is their Zelda game help. Each game has been filled to the brim with guides for bosses, enemies, heart containers, characters, codes, site quests, and much more. It is impossible to be stuck, if you are using this website to help you.<

But Zelda Dungeon is not only about game help. The site also houses Winamp Skins, Soundtracks for each game, past Nintendo power issues, large amounts of fan works, comics and anime, an extensive image gallery, on and on it goes.

But Mases is not content to keep Zelda Dungeon at the status quo. The site is constantly evolving, trying new ideas, distancing itself from the stereotypical “Traditional Zelda site.” Mases is a webmaster, who even after 6 years, continues to work fervently on improving his site. His latest project, The Zelda Dungeon Alliance, highlights his goal to continue making Zelda Dungeon a unique presence in the Zelda community.

Finally, To quote a few nominations I received:

“They've been around for a long time, and have always provided good content and always made an effort to get the most help and guides for each game.”

“Zelda Dungeon has been striving to get out as much content as they possibly could and they've done a very good job. Mases puts most, if not all of his free time into the site.”

“This is one of the best sites I have ever seen. They have been around for so long, but continue to provide excellent Zelda content.”

Zelda Dungeon is a website that has become a mainstay for the community. For their continued dedication, and being a leader in the Zelda Community, is it my pleasure to award this year's Golden Mirror Shield for Lifetime Achievement to Zelda Dungeon. Congratulations to Mases and all the people that have helped make Zelda Dungeon what it is today, best of luck in the years to come.
