I know what you guys are thinking, sitting there at your computer desk sipping your espresso. “Citrus you predictable old fool! You’ve only had two different types of sites win this award: Music and Blogging. Clearly this year’s winner is one of those.”

Well the jokes on you intrepid reader, because this year’s winner deals not with music or blogging.

This site deals with wallpaper.

Twilight Realm is a young Zelda site that launched shortly after the release of Twilight Princess. The idea was to create a website that collected all the best Zelda wallpapers, and showcase them in one convenient place.

And showcase them it does. The website is very neatly designed, allowing anyone to easily find any official wallpaper they may want with only two clicks. As far as I can tell, every single official wallpaper ever released by Nintendo is available on this site; from the early Ocarina of Time days, to the very recent Twilight Princess.

However this collection of Zelda wallpapers does not stop at just official pieces. Rather it expands with the “Exclusive” and “Other” sections of the site.

The “Other” section features wallpapers submitted by various fan artists across the internet. While there are currently only two pieces on display, I’m sure this section will grow as the site becomes more exposed within the Zelda community.

The “Exclusive” section features wallpapers that have been requested. These wallpapers can be requested by anyone, and are made by the site’s webmistress Chanty. There are some very nice wallpapers here, with several more along the way.

In short this site is about wallpaper. Its focus is wallpaper, and its goal is to showcase the highest quality official and fan made wallpaper out there on the web. It’s a rather unique idea for a site, and one I feel is deserving of this award.
