EDN Blacklist

Unfortunately there are times when people decide to do something stupid to or relating to EDN. Frankly it's this kind of behavior that destroys this community. This section is dedicated to those people who act in a way that's stupid or immature towards me or my affiliates.

August 2005 - TOWSL aka Darth Honeytoast - Former Staff Member
Behaved in an immature manner, flaming several affiliates
Was fired and sent back all material written for the site. Banned from posting comments or accessing the forums.

This incident happened when Twisted Futurity and Zelda Zutto both closed down. Needless to say, several sites were thrown into disarray, some siding with one side, some siding with the other. While I wanted to remain neutral on the subject, TOWSL, who was staff at the time, decided it would be best to express his viewpoint by flaming several of my affiliates. After an interesting conversation in which he refused to stop, he staff position was terminated. In addition to that, he requested all his content that he provided to be removed from the site. I complied as I do not want anything to do with him further.

WARNING: This chat is not edited in anyway except to censor affiliates names. For those of you who are offended by strong language do not enter. This chat took place a few minutes after receiving several IM's from various affiliates who will remain unnamed. As you can see with the progression of the conversation the reason for termination becomes clear. Since then I have received several threats from TOWSL regarding personal and site affairs.

What's will seem really ironic after you read the chat log is that he decided to "support" TF after. Funny isn't it. This is exactly the kind of attidude that needs to be removed from the community.

February 2006 - Spamsalot - Flamer
As far as I can tell, he had some kind of personal vendetta against Leinator. Decided to flame him on EDN in order to discredit him.

All I have to say is, I'm glad I was on the forums when I was. This person going by the handle "Spamsalot" decided he was going to join the Forbidden Woods and fill it with spam, mostly ones stating *Navi* you Leinator. However at the time, both Myself and Informer of the Sages was there, resulting in a swift post delete and ban. I also had to delete his posts on the cutenews as well.

I would have entirely disregarded the topic, but he decided to email me and insist that I was in the wrong, Leinator was in the wrong, but that he was doing the right thing in spamming EDN. Here is a transcript of our transaction. Nothing has been changed from its original context. The text in red is my thoughts.

First Email
Leinator is a freind of mine. on more than one occasion he has hacked into my myspace and has changed content wihtout my consent. the first time he did it he made it appear as though I chose to put a prostiute on my freinds list! not cool!!!!! I chose to ignore the incident as a joke and I changed my password. then he finds anather way into my profile account and changes content on my blog! although he did only change one word it changed everything I was saying.

This is not DH this is a former member of the site who was here for a short amount of time but do not get me confused with DH

anyway him hacking into my site got old real quick so I chose to flam him at this site. I intended to spend about 2-3 hours flaiming him so it would take a while to clean up but I did not think you would already be online and react so quickly. anyway I dont care if you delite my profile "spamsalot" it was created for the sole perpous of flaiming Leinator!

I didn't respond to this cause I just finished banning him off the forums and cutenews. However he shortly sent me a second email. Note, because I had sent him a PM on the forums before he started spaming, that is why he replies like he does here.

oh good job! I cant very well read your PM while I'm BANNED can I. you still dont get it do you! its not what he did that I'm mad about (aside from the whole hooker thing) it was that he would go onto my site, change content and put misleading things on there for nothing more than his own pleasure! he's your news writer, just be careful when your back is turned to him or you'll find a knife in it!

What the bloody heck is your problem? Since you seem to be a former staff member I'll let you in on a little secret since you haven't figured it out yet.

Exploding Deku Nut is MY SITE.

Yeah thats right, I'm the webmaster, not Leinator. I didn't choose him to be a staff member for no reason you know.

You flamed my site, spammed my forums, and you are sending me emails about how Leinator did this to you etc etc etc. How exactly would that be getting revenge on him? While your busy thinking about that, the PM I sent was to check if "Spamsalot" was a spam bot. Turns out it wasn't, but it was someone spamming all the same.

So before you think you have the right to cause trouble on EDN, then try and "warn me" about Leinator let me tell you something. I've looked at how you seem to deal with these kinds of problems that your describing, and how Leinator deal with this. Clearly he's the more mature one in this situation.

I honestly wonder why previous staff members seem to give me the most trouble with Exploding Deku Nut.

Don't try to sign up again, cause I'll delete that one too and ban your IP off the site.

I never said staff. I said community member! the reason I started emailing you is because I couldent explain the situation since I was banned.
that being said I want to know where yo uget off thinking that "hacking" is mature behaveor!
the first time it happened I wasent that mad because he did know my password so I changed it but then he went in again and changed content which is flat out hacking! if you know leinator you know that he has a way of makeing the most horrible things he's done sound reasonable and humerous. it is not a mature way of handleing the situation, that is simply keeping a correct posture in the midst of being attacked, (kinda like what hittler did) this is all aside the point however

I'm shure you'd be pissed when sobody hacks your site too. by involveing EDN I intended to hit him where it hurt and bring down his status as a news writer.

at face value he looks like a good guy, sombody you can trust, right! Wrong! behind your back and mine he hacks into sites and changes content. you trust him for being a hacker and you condem me as a immature, pre-teen, bastard. I'm not the one doing anything wrong here!

Excuse me? Not doing anything wrong here? I frankly do not care about your situation with Leinator. Its between you two and I'm not going to get into that.

HOWEVER, you think you can just use Exploding Deku Nut to flame Leinator and thats where I come in.

You should know how I feel about flaming. Since you are aware of who Darth Honeytoast is you certainly should know why I fired him. Where do YOU get off coming to my site, making posts filled with profanity, direct attacks and such? Where do YOU get off, thinking it's YOUR right to spam my forums and cutenews? If I hadn't stopped you when I did, there would have certainly been more posts and I would certainly be much more pissed off then I am now.

I haven't seen any evidence that he is a hacker. All I have is your words and that's it. If he does hack EDN, or something warrenting his termination as a staff member then fine. But so far I haven't seen anything except an ill gotten attempt to discredit Leinator. And that my good sir doesn't give me any proof at all.

This thing is between you both, and frankly you should work it out on MSN or Yahoo or something. But don't come accusing me of supporting hacking and falsfing of information when I don't.

youve made it very clear that my actions were unwarented and inapropreate. but you must know that EDN was spammed simply because Leinator works there.
anyway I'm done argueing about this,it seems evedent that nither side is willing to listen to the other so I'm going to stop wasteing our time.
I would however like to see what notes you put on me in your infamous "blacklist" when I attemepted to find the "blacklist on your site I couldent so if you could tell me where to find it or give me a URL that would be good.

I feel no need to reply to this. He can read it here. My stance on flaming and personal attacks should be clear at this point. It continually amazes me that people can do something blatently against the rules, and yet accuse me or the staff of all sorts of stuff. Simply amazing, if not stupid.
